Department of Engineering Health & Safety

Access to all Department buildings is being controlled in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Attend Department premises only when you are authorised and scheduled to do so. If you have no scheduled activity, then do not come to the Department.

Departmental members should adhere to the measures put in place by their Divisional local coordinators in conjunction with the Silver Team.

The University and Colleges expect all members of the Cambridge community and visitors to wear face coverings at ALL times in ALL indoor work or study settings, even if social distancing of at least two metres can be maintained. The only exceptions are work in single-occupancy rooms with closed doors, when actively eating or drinking, or when the individual concerned has a medical exemption. Staff should carry face coverings with them at all times and wear them when asked to do so by Department or University authorities.

Visitors to the Department should follow the advice of their host which will include being shown where they can wash or sanitise their hands and observing social distancing.

Before a visit takes place the host should complete a risk assessment to ensure that control measures are defined. The assessment can be found here
