Low-risk UK Travel
For trips within the UK where the work being undertaken is non-practical (eg: desk-based, conference, seminar, meeting). The following form should be completed prior to travel: Working Away from Cambridge (Department of Engineering)
This gives the Department enough information to be able to contact you while away to check on your safety, if for instance, there is a major incident in the place you have travelled to.
All other travel
For all other trips then you should submit assessments using the Peregrine Foresight system.
Full information about how to access and use Peregrine Foresight can be found on the Safeguarding Study and Work Away website. This includes ‘how to’ videos and Frequently Asked Questions.
NOTE: When you first go into the system you should log in via the blue button 'Login with Azure ID'. This will take you straight in using your Raven credentials as it's a single sign on application.
Further guidance can be found on our travel and working away page.
Please note
If you are going to be away from Cambridge for more than two weeks at a time, you will need to apply to be ‘working away' this application process (see Time Away from the Dept Policy ) should be made at least 8 weeks in advance of leaving Cambridge, as it can take a while for applications to be approved. A travel risk assessment is a part of the LTWA and you should not leave Cambridge until approval has been granted.
