Mental Health in the Engineering Department

It's important that we remove the stigma around mental health and face the challenges that it presents, and having staff trained in Mental Health First Aid can only benefit our colleagues and students.

Our Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs) form a support network with skills and knowledge to support people in the workplace and signpost them to available resources.

MHFAs are a point of contact if you, or someone you are concerned about, are experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress. They are not therapists or psychiatrists but they can give you initial support and signpost you to appropriate help if required.
